Nature under Threat

About the project

The Dutch artist Henri Blommers was invited to be our first FFL Artist in Residence, in cooperation with Müllerhaus Lenzburg. During three weeks in December of 2021, he spent much of his time in the woods and meadows of Lenzburg to photograph local flora and collect specimens and water samples. Of particular interest to him are those intersectional areas in nature where they become farmed, cultivated and managed natural resources, where native plant species have been endangered. For this, aside from his own intensive research, he sought out guidance and advices from the community. His analog photographic process is informed—physically, chemically and conceptually—by the observations he makes in the field and by a deep sense of urgency regarding our environment.

“Nature Under Threat,” by Henri Bloomers, is being exhibited once again this year, thanks to our collaboration with EINFACH GUT. This partnership exemplifies a form of “recycling” that promotes sustainability. www.einfachgut.online
